I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch 2 for about three months, and it’s honestly one of my favourite pieces of tech this year. In this video I break down what actually matters after the honeymoon phase: the bigger, heavier (but premium-feeling) build, the redesigned magnetic Joy-Cons, and the most underrated upgrade of all—the kickstand. The UI is super clean and plug-and-play, and it genuinely feels almost Apple‑like in how simple it is to jump in and get going. The 7.9-inch 1080p LCD surprised me. I’m used to OLED everywhere—iPhone, iPad, monitor, TV—so I expected it to feel like a downgrade, but it doesn’t. It’s sharp, vibrant, and immersive, even if the blacks and viewing angles remind you it’s still LCD, and the “HDR” doesn’t really do much without local dimming. Docked, though, it’s a different story—Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart felt like a true console experience at smooth 60fps in 4K on my OLED TV. Performance has been consistent across the games I’ve played, sleep mode is insanely good, but Nintendo’s 120Hz/VRR/DLSS features still feel weirdly underused. Battery and charging are the main pain points, but portability and offline play keep it as my primary console.
