This video is my real-life check-in on the iPhone 16 Pro Max—what it’s like to actually use, what’s genuinely new, and what feels… pretty familiar. I’ve been a Max-size guy since the iPhone 12 mainly because the Max usually had the better camera setup, but this year both Pro models have feature parity. That’s why I’m personally downsizing to the standard iPhone 16 Pro, while keeping the 16 Pro Max around more as a work/production phone (especially as a bigger viewfinder with my Sony cameras using Monitor+). The 6.9-inch display with slimmer bezels is awesome for widgets and framing shots, and the new 1-nit minimum brightness is a bigger deal than I expected (even if it just enables more late-night scrolling). I talk through colors—Desert Titanium isn’t really my vibe compared to white/silver—and the accessories I’m using, like MOFT’s cases and Creator Kit, plus the KUXIU X40Q 3-in-1 charger for a clean, travel-friendly setup. On cameras, the main lens is still my go-to, the upgraded 48MP ultrawide is finally good enough that I actually want to use it, and the 5x zoom remains great—but unchanged.
