I love my workspace, but the biggest problem with my main desk setup is that it’s almost too permanent. When you’re constantly testing new gear, accessories, and software, tearing everything down just to swap one product in (and then rebuilding it again) absolutely kills the flow. So in this video, I build a dedicated “test bench” setup: a second desk that’s clean, minimal, and flexible enough to keep up with whatever I’m reviewing next. I partnered with Desky and went with their dual resin hardwood sit-stand desk, and after a few weeks of daily use, I’m genuinely impressed. The Blue River resin running through the walnut top looks like functional art, and the whole thing feels premium—especially the stability from the internal support brackets and the smooth dual-motor lift. The cable management is also actually thoughtful, with an integrated power system, a front-opening tray, and a smart controller with presets, USB-C charging, RGB, and app/voice control (yes, “Hey Siri, Desky up” works). To keep the setup adaptable, I paired it with a BenQ MA270U 4K monitor on BenQ’s BSH01 monitor arm, added the ScreenBar Halo 2 for eye comfort and top-down shots, and ran a baseline M4 Mac mini in a Zer Mag aluminum enclosure with extra storage for a Thunderbolt SSD. The whole point is simple: less friction, more testing, and a setup that can evolve.
