In this video I’m looking at CoverMe safety hole covers—plastic, reusable covers designed to replace the old plywood-and-tape routine for jobsite penetrations. By OSHA standards, any hole penetration 2 inches or bigger needs to be covered, and these are built specifically for that 2–12 inch range (and beyond with their larger options). The big idea here is speed and consistency: instead of cutting plywood and spending up to 10 minutes getting it secured, these install in seconds and lock in tight. I walk through their 2–6 inch cover (their biggest seller) that uses sliding rail clips that ratchet in and out. You find center, tension it with friction on the underside, then lock it out—tight, secure, and sturdy. That size is rated up to 3,000 lbs on a 6-inch penetration, and it even has a punch-out for extension cords or air lines. I also cover the extra-large 12–24 inch version (2,500 lbs on an 18-inch hole), plus their diamond set covers for big steel column cutouts—tongue-and-groove pieces with pre-drilled Tapcon holes for a cleaner, safer solution than four sheets of plywood and caution tape.
