A more stable platform User: [Beta Tester] F. Hurley of Grey Ghost Woodworks User Rating: Seems like it gives the door a more stable platform, size is good everything on it is good. Love it. A truly great product User: [Beta Tester] Danielle Watson of Western Reserve Mechanical User Rating: Great idea of adding the PowerLift plate. It made a really good product into a truly great product! By far the best...like the color User: [Beta Tester] Justin Donecker of Engineered Truss Systems Inc. User Rating: By far the best thanks to the plate. Like the color...easy to locate for use and for not leaving behind on job site. Definitely addressed the frustration with other air shims User: [Beta Tester] Quanah Gibson of Gibson construction User Rating: The added plate definitely addressed the prominent frustration experienced with other air shims when dealing with narrow contacts. Easier set-up User: [Beta Tester] Shawn Woodburn of Integrity Building & Remodeling User Rating: The plate makes for easier set-up prior to applying pressure. Game changer User: [Beta Tester] Frank Corrao of F-Cor Development, LLC User Rating: The metal plate is a game changer. Improved the functionality User: [Beta Tester] Darren Price User Rating: Metal plate improved the functionality for sure. For my purposes the size was right on. It's significantly better than other air bags. User: [Beta Tester] Sean Jenan, Installation Manager of DoorWorks from Tempe, AZ User Rating: What my crew likes is the even, controlled lift they get, with no 'wrap around'. The full force is applied as they pump, and not having plastic crawl around the fragile edges of our expensive stain-grade veneer flush doors is much safer for protecting our product. Just the right size User: [Beta Tester] Ben Strickert of Hawkeye Community College User Rating: I think that you have it figured out. To me it was just the right size of plate and it did not distort with my use. Much better User: [Beta Tester] Zachary Barr of ST Custom Homes User Rating: This works much better than the old one. Much steadier User: [Beta Tester] Victor Eisenman of Feathermark LLC User Rating: The steel support is much steadier and makes it more responsive to minor adjustments. Surprised by the lifting capacity User: [Beta Tester] Andrew Englehart of Precision Piping & Mechanical, LLC User Rating: I like it and it is still low profile enough to get in where I need it. I was surprised by the lifting capacity. Better than expected. The plate is a great idea User: [Beta Tester] Ed Radley User Rating: Really helps when there's not a lot of surface area on the item being lifted. Seems like the plate actually focuses or concentrates the lifting power of the shim. Just a great innovation. Works beyond expectations User: [Beta Tester] Jon Girvan User Rating: Don't change a thing. Works beyond expectations.

About This Video

In this video I’m showing you a tool I picked up that fixes the biggest problem with most inflatable air shims: under real load they flex, curl, and sometimes give out. This is the AirShim Pro Steel, made in the USA, and it’s basically an “inflatable pry bar” or leveling tool that’s built for real loads. The big upgrade is the PowerLift steel plate on one side, which reinforces the bag so it stays flatter and gives you way more confidence when you’re lifting and holding weight—rated at 350 lbs (they say for an hour). Where this thing earns its keep is on installs. Setting cabinets, I slide it under, pump it up, and dial in height without prying or stacking shims right away—then shim after while it holds the load and I’m fastening. For doors, especially working solo, it’s super handy for lifting just enough to line up hinge knuckles and for micro-adjusting jamb reveals to keep things square. Flip the steel side up and it really shines on heavier, narrow loads where stability matters—like appliances—because it stays flat instead of curling around the load. Bottom line: it’s a precision inflatable shim with better control, safer lifting feel, and it makes the job more efficient.
