About This Video

In this video I compare Bronze vs Silver vs Gold ACA marketplace plans going into 2026, and I do it the way I actually shop with clients. The marketplace is massive, so I use Florida (my zip code) as the example and I run a super common scenario: a 30-year-old making about $35,000 (around the median income here). Then I break down what you’re really paying for—premium, deductible, copays, out-of-pocket max, and how the ER cost is structured (fixed fee vs coinsurance), because that stuff is where people get surprised. One of the biggest takeaways is how income changes the “best” tier. I explain the extra savings/CSR (cost sharing reductions) and why it’s basically a Silver-plan thing—great when you’re around 100%–150% of the federal poverty level, but once you’re past that, Silver can start fizzling out. At this income, I’m often seeing Bronze or Gold make more sense: Bronze if you’re healthy and don’t really go to the doctor, and Gold if you go frequently because the copays can be way better (sometimes you’re even paying less than a comparable Silver). At the end of the day, it depends on your usage, so if you want help comparing options, book a free 1-on-1 call with me.
