In this Sunday Night Live, I’m back doing what we do best on the Budget Guitar Show: music, chat, and a bit of complete and utter bollocks. I kick things off saying hello to everyone, then I give you a quick tease of what’s coming up in Tuesday’s video (members get it early). I also talk about how mad the last video went, with loads of new subs—big shout to Paul at Mile House Studios for giving me a boost and, frankly, helping “save” my guitar. Then I show you “Satan” as it sits right now after a couple of cheap upgrades: a new bridge and black tuners. I haven’t had time to sort the intonation yet, but I give you a quick sound sample anyway and we get stuck into murdering some tunes—Motörhead, a bit of punk, some Sabbath, and whatever else gets shouted out in the chat. It’s messy, it’s live, and it’s exactly how I like it. We also get into a proper chat about the Fender court ruling and the whole body-shape copyright thing. My take is simple: loads of budget brands are making Strat-style guitars that are as good as (or better than) stuff I’ve played with the big name on the headstock, and it’d be a real shame if smaller companies got squeezed out because of it.
