As more organizations look for ways to use AI in business analysis, many teams are discovering that the real challenge is not the technology itself. AI has a way of exposing problems that were already there, such as, unclear business objectives, weak scoping, limited business context, underdefined BA roles, and unrealistic expectations about what AI can actually do. When those foundational issues exist, AI does not solve them; it magnifies them. In this video, I share what I’m seeing as I help clients integrate AI into their business analysis practices. You’ll learn why AI often struggles in environments where business analysts are shut out of upstream conversations, expected to work without enough context, or positioned too narrowly around requirements alone. I also explore the bigger opportunity here: using AI as a signal to strengthen your BA practice, clarify how analysts create value, and make more intentional choices about where human judgment and AI can each contribute best. If AI has started to feel more like a headache than help, this video will give you a more grounded way to think about what is really going on, and what your team may need next. And if you’re looking to strengthen your business analysis skills or practice in an AI-driven environment, this is exactly the kind of work I love to support.
