Razer's new Blackwidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed is a wireless 65% keyboard that gets a lot fundamentally right but unfortunately falls short once you consider the very high price. About This Video

In this review I’m checking out Razer’s BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed, a wireless 65% keyboard that honestly gets a lot of the fundamentals right. Build quality feels solid with an aluminum top plate over a plastic case, it’s got two-step feet, a dongle storage slot, USB-C, and a switch to toggle between Bluetooth and HyperSpeed. The wireless performance is what you’d expect from Razer—great—and I also like that they didn’t throttle RGB brightness in wireless mode this time. Where things go off the rails is the price. At $180, I can’t recommend this keyboard in good conscience, because the value just isn’t there compared to what you can get for way less. You’re paying a huge premium for wireless while getting ABS keycaps (not PBT), and it really highlights what I called Razer’s “identity crisis” between the Huntsman and BlackWidow lines. Huntsman keeps shipping more premium features for less money, and BlackWidow keeps asking more while giving you less on paper. If you just need a compact wireless board, there are too many cheaper options that make more sense.
