In this video I’m unboxing, smelling (yes, I know—don’t be huffing gel polish), and swatching MelodySusie’s Sweet Scent Plant-Based Gel Polish Collection. MelodySusie sent me two 6-piece sets in their big 16.5ml bottles, plus the base and top coat. The bottles are honestly so sick—this golf ball/bowling ball vibe with a tilting mechanism is genius for getting the last little goodnesses out, and I love how display-worthy they look. We swatch the Christmas set first, and it’s basically a must-have around the holidays: a gorgeous gold, a super unique white-champagne shimmer, plus red/green options (glitter and cream). The glitters are a medium consistency, not chunky, and they self-level beautifully—some shades are a bit translucent, but they build up nicely with extra coats. Then I swatch the Nude Natural set (because of course I would pick the nudes). The darker browns were stunning—no streaking, no shadowing, and they laid beautifully. The lighter shades (the white and pink) were a bit streaky for me even after testing different application methods, so I’d plan on a third coat. The scents were light and pretty (floral/ocean/fresh outside vibes), and I love that it’s not overpowering—especially if you’re sensitive to strong gel smells.
