About This Video

Hey everyone, Joshua Hanlon here, and in this video I’m taking you through an awesome LEGO Viking village layout at Le Sommet de la Brique 2025 with several of the builders who brought it to life over about three years. What I love about this display is that it’s a functional “day in the life” village—not just Vikings fighting all the time. You’ve got a tavern, fishing, a calm graveyard area, and tons of little Easter eggs hidden throughout. We dig into the specific sections each builder tackled and the techniques they used to make the whole thing feel organic and cohesive. There’s a great roof technique using clips and bars, layered terrain designed to suggest shoreline mountains and waterfalls, and a wall section intentionally built with “no pattern at all” to keep it from looking repetitive. We also look at movement added with a powered water mill, a ship-building area that mixes custom work with some larger pre-built elements, and a war hall that leans into a slightly fantasy, Games-of-Thrones-style vibe—complete with the reality of broken reddish brown parts along the way. The whole layout shows how a group build can still reflect everyone’s individual touch while matching as one big world.
