About This Video

I’m back with Rich (Intense Bricks) for our annual castle kingdom update, and this time we’re in his brand new space with the entire layout moved and expanding again. We walk through the newest countryside additions—more farmland pushing out into rural villages, windmills, and a full tournament area with archery and jousting—plus a river “toll stop” tax tower and a hunting lodge that’s all about the view. One of my favorite parts of Rich’s layout is how the roads and paths meander; you can stand above it, look down, and suddenly notice a whole new story happening along a street or cliffside. The big headline addition is the new island fortress: a sand blue castle loosely inspired by Dragonstone, built with a tight footprint, winding paths up through the rock, and a self-contained village inside the walls. Rich talks through his process—building topography first, then deciding where fortifications and town space naturally belong—and the parts and textures that make it work (tons of 1x1s, fenders, inverted slopes, and careful color mixing). We also cover the logistics of moving a massive modular display (plywood under modules, lots of LEGO friends, and surprisingly minimal breakage), plus what’s next: more ocean tiling, waves, ships, and new tables to keep the kingdom growing.
