I’m back at Atlanta Brick Con 2026 talking with Stephan and the builders behind the latest update to the New Hashima cyberpunk city—this year’s adjacent build is called Neoterminus. The big headline change is the water: they swapped to green and laid down an absolutely wild 70,000 1x1 trans-green tiles. But the bigger story is that the team stepped back after years of building and rewrote their standards, leaning harder into a gritty, dystopian cyberpunk look with a “quality over quantity” mindset. As we move through Sector 08, I chat with a bunch of collaborators about how they hit that refreshed aesthetic: Mikey’s topper with medium nougat panels and a precarious skyline of signage; Noah’s “mundane businesses” like tea shops and storage units to sell that lived-in realism; and Jordan’s open-air market cube with Arduino-driven LCD and integrated wiring in the new walkway standard. We also dig into builder stories like Blake’s Hashima Corp Tower—taller than he is—with a surprisingly bulletproof working elevator using LEGO gears plus roller coaster wheels and track. Stephan also shows his Hong Kong-inspired pink corner building with stairs you can actually imagine minifigs using, plus Neuromancer Easter eggs (“fluid neon” and “origami trick”). The takeaway is what I love most about big community displays: shared standards, constructive critique, and a ton of ingenuity—especially when lighting, motion, and transport modularity all have to work in the real world.
