Lately I’ve had this weird sense of calm about YouTube. Not like I’ve got everything figured out—more like I’m not spiraling about whether it’s “going to work” anymore. I used to run through the usual thoughts: am I wasting time, should I be doing something else, what if this never becomes anything. But recently it shifted in my head from “if” to “when.” From the outside, yeah, I’m still small and I’ve got a long way to go. Internally though, it doesn’t feel like that, because I’ve already gotten so much back from this. People telling me they relate, that they started creating because of something I said, or even just that they enjoyed the video—those moments matter to me a lot. It’s kind of crazy that these are literally just me sitting in my room talking to a camera, and they end up on someone else’s screen somewhere in the world. And the biggest reason I feel calm is simple: I’m not planning on stopping. Even if a video gets 10 views or the algorithm hates me, I genuinely enjoy doing this, and I’m going to keep showing up. If you’re chasing something too—YouTube or anything—my advice is just start sooner, even messy, and stick around long enough to let it compound. At that point, it’s only a matter of time.
