In this video, I finally do the thing I should’ve done a while ago: I get a real photo album for the stack of 4x6 prints I’ve been making for this little “while printing a memory” series. I found an album at TJ Maxx for $16.99, and I picked it because it looks clean and minimal (it literally says “photographs” on the front), and the layout actually fits how I shoot—portrait and landscape slots on every page. It instantly makes the whole printing-memories thing feel more real. Before I start filing everything, I print a new memory first—yes, another Costco hot dog photo (shout out to my cousin for taking it). I’m using my Canon SELPHY CP1500, which I love because it’s quick, easy, and made for 4x6. Then I take my sweet time (okay, I kind of rush it) putting the photos in, realizing I’ve printed way more vertical shots than I remembered. The takeaway: I need to go on more photo walks, print more horizontals, and start adding little notes behind the photos—because the stories matter just as much as the pictures.
