iPhone footage looks amazing these days, but sometimes it can feel a little too digital. In this video I show how I use Dehancer in DaVinci Resolve to give my iPhone footage a cinematic film look without needing to be a professional filmmaker or colorist. About This Video

One thing I’ve noticed about iPhone footage is it looks really good… but also really digital. In this video I show the super simple way I’ve been using Dehancer inside DaVinci Resolve to make my iPhone clips feel more like film—without needing to be a filmmaker or a pro colorist (because I’m definitely not). I’m just a content creator who likes experimenting until it looks good to my eyes, and honestly, that’s the whole vibe of this workflow. I walk through my “messy” process: I either drop Dehancer on a new node in the Color tab, or I put it on an adjustment clip so I can drag-and-drop my look across a bunch of clips. I show it working on iPhone footage from different sources (Blackmagic app and the native Camera app), and I’m constantly toggling before/after because the change can be subtle but it’s a game changer. My go-to moves are picking a film profile (I usually land on Fuji Color 100, and I used to shoot Ektar 100), warming it up a bit, adjusting exposure, and then dialing back the grain (ISO 50 and usually way down). I’ll add a touch of halation/bloom if it feels right, and I’ll often land around ~70% output strength so it doesn’t scream “filter.”
