About This Video

In this video I walk you through every Ryobi tool that’s currently in my shop—what I’d buy again, what I’d avoid, and the little “watch outs” I’ve learned after actually using this stuff over time. I’ll be honest: five years ago I wasn’t a Ryobi guy at all. I pretty much viewed them as bottom-of-the-line homeowner tools. But as I built out my shop (and my tool budget got real), I started testing more Ryobi because the pricing is hard to ignore—and some of their newer stuff is legitimately impressive. I break down the Ryobi tools I think are absolutely worth it, like the One+ HP brushless compact router (great ergonomics and a killer value compared to the Milwaukee M18 router), the One+ HP barrel grip jigsaw (solid power, great features, and doesn’t feel cheap), the tire inflator (a non-woodworking tool that I use constantly), Edge batteries (huge difference in power/runtime), and the One+ HP drill (the most comfortable drill I’ve personally used). I also talk Ryobi LINK storage—great build quality for the money. Then I get into the regrets: cheap low-tier batteries, the AirStrike 18ga brad nailer (heavy, no bump mode, and feels slow/finicky), and the older brushed router and D-grip jigsaw—mostly because the HP brushless versions are just that much better.
