Beautiful, right? In this video I break down the three things you need if you want to move abroad and actually make it happen—without getting overwhelmed. First, you’ve got to know your “why.” If you’re clear on why you want to leave the United States, you’ll handle culture shock better and you’ll immerse yourself faster, because wherever you’re going won’t be like the USA (and that’s not all bad). Your reasons are personal, and what mattered to my family may be different than what matters to you. Second, you need to know your budget. I’m talking real numbers: what it costs to move, what it costs to live day-to-day, and how your quality of life changes—groceries, rent, mortgages, retirement income, and whether you can get a job abroad or translate your business overseas. Third is research. You’ve got to research immigration requirements, visa types, whether dual citizenship is possible, and even what kind of lifestyle you’re choosing—mountain life, city life, or island life like I’m living around the East Africa region.
