Alright, so in this video I’m starting with the real “before” — old hair, a little leftover gel (yes, the white stuff), and that busy-mom-of-3 life. I’m showing you how I take my natural hair from looking a little crazy to looking polished and put together with a low-maintenance install. The unit I’m using is a kinky straight U-part wig from LAVY Hair (22 inches, 200% density), and what I love is that I can keep a little of my natural hair out while still getting length and fullness that looks super natural. I walk you through my whole prep: creating my leave-out with a wide-tooth comb (it does not have to be perfect), detangling gently because I’m dealing with postpartum shedding, and then making anchor braids around the perimeter so the wig clips have something secure to grab onto. After that, I braid the rest of my hair down (but you can twist or ponytail it—this wig has enough volume to hide it). Then I install the wig, adjust the straps for the perfect fit, blow-dry my leave-out to blend, and even switch to a middle part to show how versatile it is. And yes—don’t skip the edges if you want that sleek, neat finish.
