Unfortunately, my parents got confused and chose a thought daughter… so yes, we’re doing a thought daughter summer. In this video I’m basically romanticizing a simple, quiet summer—because I got so inspired after watching Perfect Days (Wim Wenders). The film follows Hirayama, a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo, and it’s literally just routines, books, music, and this very grounded, mundane beauty. It genuinely reminded me that I don’t always need to live in a chaotic atmosphere to feel alive—sometimes “now is now” is the whole point. I also talk about getting back into journaling, because I used to prioritize it a lot and then life got loud in my head. If you’re like me and you feel consumed with thoughts (especially the ones you can’t really say out loud), journaling helps you have that conversation with yourself and let your mind be free. Don’t scroll—write about it. I take you along for little calm moments too: a random (slightly scary) trail that turned out so pretty, my failed-but-good strawberry banana “smoothie” that became a juice, reading a chapter or two, and just being a full media lover. And yes, I’m choosing music over films (I said what I said), gushing over cute jewel case CDs, and sharing my favorite summer films/dramas that just hit different in this season.
