About This Video

In this video I’m taking you along for a slow, cozy evening routine with my four kids—starting right at the school run and moving through the real-life bits in between. It’s been a hard season for us (we’ve had a couple of deaths that really rocked our family), so this vlog is very much about finding little pockets of calm again. From collecting the kids, chatting about their day, and getting everyone home, I share what our afternoons and evenings actually look like right now—mess, mud, and all. Once we’re back, I’m juggling dinner (I’m big on double-batching meals—chilli con carne one day means an easier, more relaxed dinner the next), feeding my 11-month-old (we’re navigating what feels like a bit of a nursing strike), and getting outside while the weather’s lovely. We move the bunnies into their new garden setup, do some planting, and then head inside for the reset: a kitchen tidy, baths for muddy kids, and me prepping jammies and nappies beforehand so bedtime doesn’t feel like pure chaos. After the younger two are down, I soak up some one-on-one time with my older children and we try a Mel Science kit together—because I love anything that makes learning feel fun and doable, especially with a big age gap. It’s a gentle, realistic look at how I try to bring slow living into our evenings, even when life feels heavy.
