As a mum of four (and a primary school teacher), I’ve learned that slowing down doesn’t mean I suddenly have loads of free time—it means changing the way I move through my day so I actually enjoy the little moments instead of rushing past them. I talk about starting the day with something that fills me up, even if it’s only five minutes: sipping tea before the kids wake, stretching, opening the curtains, and taking a deep breath before the chaos begins. I also share the tiny rituals that make ordinary moments feel super special—using my favourite mug, lighting a candle while I tidy, sitting outside with the baby, and creating a cozy home atmosphere with soft lighting, gentle music, and a diffuser. I chat about bringing beauty into the mundane: making cleaning feel like self-care with fresh air and a playlist, folding laundry with intention, and setting the table (even for a simple dinner) to turn it into something enjoyable. And the biggest mindset shift? Embracing the mess and the chaos, letting go of perfection, laughing more, and focusing on what my kids will actually remember—connection, not a spotless house.
