Mark Glaser ’76 Lecture on Government Ethics with NYS Inspector General Lucy Lang

On Monday, November 3, 2025, the Government Law Center at Albany Law School presented the first annual Mark Glaser ’76 Lecture on Government Ethics, featuring New York State Inspector General Lucy Lang in dialogue with Government Law Center Director Patrick Wildes ’16. Lang and Wildes discussed the importance of independent oversight at all levels of government, major challenges facing government oversight agencies, and the next generation of oversight. The Mark Glaser ’76 Lecture on Government Ethics was established to recognize the distinguished career and contributions of Mark Glaser, Albany Law School Class of 1976. Before his retirement from Greenberg Traurig in 2024, Mr. Glaser represented businesses and individuals in relation to governmental ethics and compliance, legislative issues, governmental procurement practices, competitive bidding requirements, racing and gaming law, and manufactured housing. He previously served as counsel to the Majority of the New York State Assembly, acting as legal advisor to five speakers of the assembly as well as other members of the assembly's leadership. As chief ethics counsel for the assembly, Mr. Glaser was a principal drafter of the 1987 Ethics in Government Act. As an active member of the legal community, he also frequently lectures on lobbying laws, ethics, procurement, and related compliance matters. Mr. Glaser has previously served on the Advisory Board of the Government Law Center at Albany Law School.
