About This Video

I recently got a new pen, so this video is basically a little fountain pen chat—featuring my newest pick-up: the TWSBI Eco in the color Espresso. It’s a Taiwanese fountain pen brand, and I went for Espresso because it just feels like the perfect fall color. If you know me, you know I’m always hunting for warm-toned pens and inks, and this one really fit the bill. I also show my other two TWSBIs (an Eco Creme I bought secondhand from a friend here in Berlin, plus a limited edition one) because they’re very much in my warm-colored-girly era. One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to the TWSBI Eco is the ink capacity—like, you can fill it once and it can last months. I do think the body is a bit chunkier though, so if you prefer slimmer pens, I’m not sure I’d recommend it. I also talk about how, when I first started using fountain pens, TWSBI was one of my first pens, and the main learning curve was getting used to the weight. Now that I’m used to heavier pens (like my Pilot Custom 823), the Eco feels totally fine. For ink, I matched the pen with Pilot Iroshizuku Tsukushi—a warm deep brown with pink undertones that I’m still heartbroken Pilot phased out. I went with a fine nib this time, and it honestly writes pretty wet, especially on my Hobonichi.
