What I did: Tossed caution to the fryer. 🍗 Ingredients Marinade • 1 red onion • 1 yellow onion • 1 red bell pepper • 3 cloves garlic • 1 thumb ginger • ¼ cup soy sauce • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce • 1 tbsp sesame oil • 1 tbsp chili oil • 1 tbsp oyster sauce • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce • 1 tbsp brown sugar • 2 tbsp raspberry vinaigrette Breading • 1 cup crushed Fritos • ½ toasted French baguette, blitzed into breadcrumbs Toppings • Iceberg lettuce, shredded • Cherry tomatoes, halved or quartered • Raspberry vinaigrette • 1 tsp garlic paste • 1 tsp soy sauce Additional • Flour tortillas • Canola oil (for frying) • Spicy mayo (mayo + sriracha + splash of lime juice) ⸻ 🔥 How It Went Down Break Down & Brine Clean and break down the chicken. Dry brine with salt for 1 hour. Marinate Blend marinade ingredients into a thick sauce. Coat chicken and refrigerate 2–3 hours (overnight if you’re brave). Fusion Breading Pulse Fritos and baguette into coarse crumbs and mix together. Cautionary Fry Press marinated chicken directly into breading and fry at 350°F until golden. ⚠️ Warning: The breading may not stick — but the flavor still slaps. Build the Tacos Lightly crisp flour tortillas.
