About This Video

In this video, I show you exactly how to turn on Incognito mode in Claude so you can start a private chat in seconds. I walk you through the full flow: open your browser, head to the Claude website, sign in (or create an account if you’re new), and then look in the upper-right corner for the incognito/private toggle. Once you click it on, you’ll see a clear visual indicator so you know you’re in a private session. If you don’t see the toggle right away, I also cover the quick fixes—make sure you’re on a new chat and your window is wide enough for all the controls to show up. Then I explain what actually changes when you use Incognito Claude. The big takeaway is that your chats aren’t saved to your history and they aren’t used to train models, so you won’t find that conversation in your sidebar later. Because it’s temporary, I recommend copying anything important to your notes (or downloading files) before you close the tab, refresh, or toggle incognito off. Finally, I show how to switch back—just click the same button off and new chats go back to your normal saved history.
