About This Video

In this video, I show you exactly how to turn off Claude Code permissions so you can keep tighter control over what Claude is allowed to do in your account. If you’ve been testing Claude’s coding features and you want to limit code execution or tool access for privacy, compliance, or just a cleaner workflow, this is the quick walkthrough you need. I keep it simple: open Claude in your browser (desktop is easiest), make sure you’re in the right account/workspace, and then head straight to the settings area where these controls live. From the main Claude screen, I go to the bottom-left profile icon, open the account menu, and click Settings. Inside the settings panel, I navigate to the Claude Code section, where you’ll find the toggle that enables Claude Code. Flip that switch off, confirm any prompts, and Claude will stop using those coding capabilities in your account. The big takeaway: you can disable Claude Code without messing with unrelated settings, and you can always come back later to re-enable it if your needs change.
