About This Video

In this video, I walk you through exactly how to paste an image into Claude Code so Claude can analyze it right alongside your prompt and code. I keep it quick and practical: where to go, what to click, and the exact paste workflow that actually works. We start on the Claude website, then I show you the left sidebar and why you want the dedicated Code workspace (it’s more structured for technical tasks and it’s built to handle assets like screenshots, UI mockups, diagrams, and error images). I also cover the one thing that trips people up: if you see an upgrade prompt when you try to use image input, that’s normal. Image support in the Code workspace may require a plan that enables image features, so I show you to use the on-screen upgrade button, complete checkout, and then jump back into Code. From there, it’s simple: click into the message box, copy your image to the clipboard, and paste with Command+V (Mac) or Control+V (Windows). You’ll see a preview (PNG/JPG work great), then you add clear instructions—like extracting text, describing layout, or suggesting code changes—and send it. If it doesn’t paste, I show the quick checks that usually fix it.
