About This Video

In this video, I walk you through how to connect Gmail to Claude AI so Claude can actually help inside your inbox—finding messages faster, summarizing long threads, and keeping you on top of follow-ups. I start from Claude in your browser, then go into Customize, hit Connect your apps, and search for Gmail in the app directory. Once you open the Gmail integration page, you’ll see exactly what it enables: mailbox search, full thread reading for clean context, and help drafting replies without you digging through email chains. From there, I show the full authorization flow: click Connect, continue through the Google window, pick the correct Gmail account, and then handle permissions. For the “full experience,” I select all permissions so Claude can read messages and threads and assist with drafting. The key point is it doesn’t send anything without your instruction, and you can revoke access anytime. I also cover quick troubleshooting—double-checking the right Google account, dealing with Google Workspace admin approval, and how to disconnect Gmail later with a single click. Once it’s connected, you can ask Claude to find emails by sender/subject, summarize messy threads, or draft a clear reply based on the conversation history.
