I’ve been daily driving the reMarkable Paper Pro basically since day one, and in this long-term review I break down what it’s like after a full year of real use—whether it still holds up, and whether it’s still worth the money in 2026. I focus on what actually matters over time: build quality, battery life, the Marker Plus, and how the whole “premium e-ink notebook” experience feels when it’s not new anymore. Spoiler: the hardware is still incredibly solid, the keyboard folio is one of the best-feeling keyboard accessories I’ve used, and battery life is still the kind of “weeks between charges” situation if you’re sensible with the front light. I also get into the software, because that’s where I’ve historically been more critical of reMarkable. The experience is fast, clean, and intentionally limited, but they have added meaningful updates—new languages, Word import, Slack integration, and the reMarkable Methods template directory. At the same time, I still think a device that can hit around $1,000 in Canada should offer more basics like a calendar glance and a simple calculator, plus better control over color (a picker/wheel instead of a tiny palette). In the end, I explain who I still recommend the Paper Pro for, and who should look at BOOX or iFLYTEK if they need apps, a browser, or a more open platform.
