In this video I’m reviewing the all-new PLAUD NotePin S, which is the second-gen version of PLAUD’s super popular, ultra-portable AI note-taking assistant. If you’re not familiar with PLAUD, they’re basically the number one product in this space right now, and I’ve already reviewed the PLAUD Note and Note Pro on the channel. The big story here is that the NotePin S takes the original NotePin idea and makes it far more usable day-to-day, while still being ridiculously compact. I go through what’s in the box and why the portability is still the main selling point: you can wear it clipped to your shirt (magnetic clip), around your neck (lanyard), or on your wrist (wrist strap). The biggest upgrade is the new physical button—long press to start/stop recording, and short press to highlight key moments, which is huge for longer meetings. Battery life has also been excellent in my testing (I’ve been using it for about three weeks and I’m still over 70%). I also cover transcription quality, speaker identification, and the new PLAUD desktop companion app (Mac and Windows). My main nitpick is that reviewing/summarizing still kicks you into a browser window, so you’re not truly offline on desktop. Finally, I talk security/compliance, real-world use cases, the biggest limitation versus the Note/Note Pro (no dedicated phone call recording), and PLAUD’s subscription/minutes pricing so you know what you’re getting into.
