I hate having to make videos like this, but UPDF left me with no choice. In this one, I break down my experience collaborating with them as a smaller creator and why I genuinely think you should avoid partnering with them if they reach out. I’m lucky—I’ve got a day job and YouTube is a passion project—but a lot of creators rely on brand deals to pay bills, and getting jerked around like this can really hurt. Here’s what happened: UPDF first sponsored a review in 2024. I tested the software rigorously (like I always do), shared my honest thoughts, and that was that. Then in early 2025 they wanted more content, but I didn’t want to spam my own channel with repeated PDF-tool videos. So we agreed I’d make original videos (my voice, my likeness, my footage) for a new UPDF channel, with payment per video. The first batch went fine—approved, posted, paid. The problem started with the next batch. They approved the videos, posted them, and then refused payment when the due date hit, claiming the quality wasn’t up to their “standard.” They then asked me to make a third video and only pay a “two-for-one” rate—three videos for the price of one—months passed, and they’ve ignored my emails. The tool might be good, but based on how they handled this, I can’t recommend working with them.
