About This Video

In this video I install the full BimmerTech Alpha One speaker set in my E90 BMW, and I walk you through it the way I actually do these jobs in the driveway. I show the kit pieces (A90 underseat subs, A45/A40 mids, A10 tweeters, plus the center dash speaker), then I focus on doing one side because the other side is the same. I also go over the tools you really need—trim tools, T20/T50, 8mm, 3mm Allen—and I talk about why that little “DIY essentials” style kit can save your butt if you don’t already have a drawer full of tools. The hardest part is the underseat subwoofer because you’ve got to unbolt the front seats (T50), tilt them back, and work carefully so you don’t mar anything up. From there I move into the door cards: removing the T20 bolts, unplugging connectors, swapping the midrange (8mm nuts) and tweeter, and using the supplied spacers and harness so you don’t mix up the “amp side” and “mid side.” Big takeaway: clips matter. I explain the difference between white and gray door card clips (they’re not interchangeable), plus that oddball shorter brown clip on the rear panel—because if you get this wrong, you’re going to end up with rattles, and that defeats the whole point of upgrading audio.
