If there’s one word that defined what I shared in 2025, it’s consistency—and yeah, I know it felt like a lot. People asked (sometimes genuinely, sometimes angrily) why I was posting about the freedom flotilla, Gaza, Sudan, and why I was calling out major industry organizations like the CCPDT and the AVMA instead of “just” teaching sit and stay. In this video, I explain why I don’t believe in selective ethics: if I’m going to be force-free in dog training, I can’t stay silent about force, coercion, and oppression when it’s happening to human beings. I also break down why I challenged the CCPDT for continuing to endorse aversive methods like shock collars, and why I called out the AVMA for reckless comments that contradict their own stated mission about the inseparable health of animals, people, and the environment. For me, the mindset that prioritizes control over consent—“because I said so” as justification for pain—is the same logic that fuels broader systems of oppression. The takeaway is simple: agency and safety can’t be values we apply only when it’s convenient. I’m going to keep using the influence you’ve given me to push for better in dog training and beyond—and I’m ready for 2026.
