10-11-2025. The day we met our son, Maison Pham Le 💙 Nothing could have prepared me for how intense and overwhelming labour would be. I did the hypnobirthing classes, read the books, watched all the videos. But nothing could have prepared me for what labour actually felt like. It was the kind of pain that stays with you, things escalated so quickly that my mind couldn’t keep up. That oxytocin-filled love at first sight birth I pictured turned into an emergency c section with a spinal block on top of an epidural, I was numb from the neck down. I could barely breathe and it breaks my heart that I couldn’t be fully present in the moment my baby arrived. After four days in hospital, both of us recovering from an early infection on antibiotics and watching his weight drop, we are finally home. We’re exhausted, fragile, grateful, all at the same time. I’m still processing the trauma of the birth, but I’m also experiencing the purest love I’ve ever felt. This first week of motherhood and breastfeeding has been humbling, messy, and beautiful. We’re learning together, slowly and I’m grateful every day for Quang, who has been the most incredible support as we start this new chapter as a family. We’re slowly settling into our new rhythm, finding moments of calm in the chaos, and soaking up every tiny bit of him.
