About This Video

I’m currently in Shanghai and I took you guys with me to the Lantern Festival for Lunar New Year—honestly, it felt so magical I don’t think my camera could even do the lights justice. Everywhere you turn it’s like, “Wow, how does this place even exist?” I loved seeing people dressed in old Chinese traditional outfits too—it made the whole night feel extra special and cultural, not just pretty. In this video, I also share a little family tradition I’m starting with my son Mason: every country we visit, we collect a magnet. Shanghai had sooo many options (some were literally 3D and like a whole photo frame), and it was such a cute way to remember the trip. We also stopped to get Mason a bracelet that can open and close as he grows, and we had it engraved—his name in Chinese and English, plus a message about living a long life with abundance. And of course, I had to try local snacks: we grabbed warm mochi-like treats (taro and red bean) because trying snacks in a new country is one of my favorite things. This was such a beautiful way to end our Shanghai trip as a family.
