About This Video

Come spend the day with me as a new mum trying to get my life (and some kind of fitness routine) back. It had been about four months since I did any proper exercise, and with it being 2026 I really wanted to start moving again—not in a punishing way, but in a “let’s be consistent and feel good” way. I also got super real about clothes fitting (or not fitting). I tried squeezing into my old gym set and honestly it felt like I was putting on a little girl’s trousers… and the jacket definitely wasn’t zipping. I’m officially 8 weeks postpartum and I finally stepped on the scale for the first time. For context: I was 53kg pre-pregnancy, got up to 79kg at my heaviest, and I’m now 63kg—so I’ve got around 10kg I’d like to slowly shift, but I don’t even need to go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I’d be happy around 55–56kg, and I’m reminding myself it took nine months to gain it, so it’ll take time to lose it—especially as a breastfeeding mum where everything takes double the time. I did my first beginner treadmill workout of 2026 (humbling, lol), and my biggest takeaway is simple: slow, consistent action—1% better every day—so hopefully by summer I’m outside running again (and then straight back to mummy duties).
