4 months into motherhood

About This Video

I’m officially four months postpartum, so this video is my real, honest update on what motherhood has taught me so far. The biggest lesson? Don’t judge until you’re actually in someone else’s shoes. Everything I swore I “would never do” as a mum… I’m literally doing now. I talk about how I used to judge mums for using dummies (pacifiers), but once you’ve got a baby screaming bloody murder in a taxi, on the tube, or on the train and they just need comfort—girl, you get it. I even tried five different dummies because I was determined to find one he’d take. I also get into co-sleeping—another thing I was so against because I thought I was going to raise this strong, independent boy. But if you want any remnants of a good night’s sleep, you just do what works. Especially if you’re breastfeeding, it’s genuinely easier to roll over and feed. Speaking of breastfeeding, I share that our breastfeeding journey is slowly coming to an end after four months, and we’re starting combo feeding. It breaks my heart, but I’m choosing “fed is best,” and I’m proud I made it this far—because becoming a mum has been scary, but so, so rewarding.
