In this video, I’m animating Spotify Wrapped-inspired intro templates with a cozy, aesthetic twist. Spotify Wrapped was such a fun campaign in 2022, and when I saw how playful their graphics and animations were, I knew I wanted to recreate some of that energy in my own way. Just a quick disclaimer: this is a remake, not an exact replica, so it’s meant to feel inspired-by (with my own spin) rather than identical. I walk you through my process from the very beginning—starting with research, then building a moodboard to narrow down the look and references. I talk about how Spotify’s direction leaned into “Self-expression” and “Play,” and how their monogram system helps everything feel cohesive while still being different. Then I jump into making the graphics in Figma (including using Gotham as the closest match since I don’t own the original font), and I show how I drew the planet-verse background, built the ringed planets using Boolean groups, and created a personality card theme with soft gradients and glow. Finally, I bring everything into After Effects (and sometimes Premiere Pro) for the animation magic, including the sunrise-to-sunset cloud title screens—yes, the cloud looked like a caterpillar for a second and my partner called me out lol.
