In this demo I lean hard into what makes watercolor so fun: exciting hues and bold, confident color choices. I paint along with professional artist Chris Petri, and the big theme is simple—don’t be afraid of color. I show you how I approach bright passages without turning everything into mud, and how I keep my mixes clean so the painting still feels fresh and “watercolor-y.” We talk through practical color decisions as the demo develops: where to push saturation, where to calm it down, and how to let one strong wash do a lot of the work.
