If you want to make more art, you can’t wait for inspiration to show up in a velvet cape—you have to make art even when you don’t feel like it. I talk about building the habit of showing up, keeping the threshold low, and treating your practice like a real commitment (yes, even if your drawings are silly little goblins today). I also get into the trap that drains artists the fastest: comparison. Comparison kills progress, so I reframe it into something useful—study. Look at the old Masters (or any artists you admire) with a witchy kind of curiosity: What are they doing with values, composition, rhythm, storytelling? Then take notes, steal the structure (not the soul), and go make your own work. And the biggest mindset shift of all: accept that you are an Artist. Not “aspiring.” Not “one day.” If you make art, you’re in the coven—now act like it, protect your time, and let your output be the proof.
