This thing looks absolutely amazing, and I genuinely cannot wait for it. I go over the big new details we know so far: it’s coming with 1,555 pieces, seven minifigures, and it’s set to release on August 1st, 2024. For pricing, you’re looking at $159.99 in the US—basically “a buck 60”—and honestly, that feels pretty fair for what you’re getting, especially with how good it’s going to look as a display piece while still being a solid play set. Minifigure-wise, you’re getting Darth Vader alongside a bunch of Imperial-related figures like officers, a stormtrooper, and technical/navy officer types—exactly the kind of Imperial “jargon” I love seeing included. The set also includes the 25th anniversary Cal Kestis minifigure, which is cool, but I do share one little nitpick: with all the “fives” going on (1,555 pieces), I kind of wish LEGO would’ve made Fives the exclusive minifig here instead and moved Cal to another summer set. Either way, I’m so hyped I literally texted my brothers and sister-in-law to get this for my 21st birthday instead of a drink at the bar.
