In today’s LEGO vlog, I’m doing a little bit of everything: some LEGO room updates, and some real Midwest retail hunting at Meijer to see if any January 1st sets hit shelves early. The store was pretty bare, and honestly the biggest L was that nothing was even on sale—when Amazon and Target are out here doing 20% off like it’s nothing. Still, we did spot a couple interesting things (including a set that looked like it was showing up as “coming soon” online), and we talked about that classic situation where the sets are physically on the shelf, but the register system can’t scan them yet. After the Meijer run, I bring you back into the LEGO room: new desk setup, moving stuff around (yes, I know… putting things on top of displays is a no-no), and I’m hyped because I’m blessed to be getting an iMac for editing/work. I also show some shelf reorganizing, my seasonal display swap to winter/Christmas, and I shout out Captain Rex’s Y-Wing—mainly because having Rex in-hand finally is just awesome. I also get real about the “sealed set problem”: I’ve got a ton of boxed stuff, but not enough that actually inspires city progress, so 2025 is going to be about reconfiguring the city and upgrading shelving space.
