What up guys? In this vlog I finally switched the Hilux from all-terrain tires to rugged-terrain tires, and I’m sharing my genuine first impressions after the install. For the past 2 years, my A/Ts have been reliable in almost every situation—except thick mud. And if you’ve ever been stuck in the mud, you know exactly how frustrating that can be. That’s why I wanted something more aggressive, but still daily-drivable, and Radar Tires gave me the chance to try the Radar Renegade R/T+. I had the set installed at Doc Joe Off-Road Clinic (authorized Radar dealer), and I walked through the tire’s features: aggressive sidewall lugs (I chose the mud-penetrating dagger design), alternating shoulder lugs, mud/stone ejectors, big tread voids, and a wide center block to help balance weight and reduce noise. I stayed with my usual size (LT285/70R17), and this tire has a 10-ply construction plus a robust 3-ply sidewall to help reduce puncture risk on rocky trails. On-road, comfort and handling felt comparable to what I’m used to—predictable and stable. Noise-wise, there’s a slight hum above 60 km/h, but it’s manageable and definitely quieter than the mud-terrains my friends run. At around ₱9,000 (depending on the dealer), it’s a solid bang-for-buck option, and I’ll be testing it on mud and sharing wear updates at 5,000 km, 10,000 km, and after a year.
