Back from a trail, camp, or overland trip, I don’t just park the rig and call it a day—because skipping post-trip maintenance can cost you later. In this video, I walk you through the essential checks I do after an off-grid adventure, whether you’re driving a 4x4, 4x2, SUV, or even a hatchback. I headed to Holy Family Shell Palapala to show a practical, repeatable routine that keeps your vehicle adventure-ready and worry-free. I start with a quick general check: suspension, wheel bearings, fluids, tires, and anything that looks loose, leaking, damaged, or sounds weird. Then I talk about wheel alignment—rough trails, rocky sections, and even rutted dirt roads can knock things out of line, leading to uneven tire wear, pulling, and vibrations. After that, I cover brake cleaning and lubrication (especially after mud, water crossings, and sandy areas), underwash to protect the underchassis from mud, sand, and salt, plus a proper wash inside and out. I also include engine detailing to help spot leaks and reduce grime buildup, and I end with lubrication of greasable parts like U-joints and ball joints so your drivetrain and suspension stay smooth for the next trip.
