What’s up guys—this one’s another car camping vlog and we’re heading to Zambales for a riverside camp at Sole’s Nature Park in Botolan. It was already dark when me and Kai left (we came from a birthday in Christine), so it turned into a bit of an “arrive late, figure it out” kind of run. Waze tried to send us somewhere else, good thing our friends had radios and guided us in. We even had to go through a narrow, dense path and a river crossing before finally reaching the campsite. We set up right beside the river (waist-deep stream) and the weather was chilly—around 26°C. In the morning, I did a quick campsite tour: wide open plains, huts, pine trees at the back, and a solid view of the Zambales mountain range (and you can spot Pinatubo from our area). I also showed the deep rut I fell into the night before—KO2 tracks and all—because I got distracted and didn’t notice it. Rain and wind picked up hard, and since we don’t have an awning wall extension yet, we had to reposition the rig against the wind and peg down the awning. After lunch we took a dip in the river, then packed up early the next day—of course the rain poured right as I was finishing. We ended the trip at a nearby beach campsite, and it hit me: Zambales really has it all—mountains, plains, rivers, and the sea.
