What up, guys? U here, and for this vlog I took you on a 3-day, 2-night car camping trip up in the mountains of Malico, Pangasinan. We started with an overnight at River Ranch in Tanay, then left around 4:00 a.m. to link up with Kings 4x4 on NLEX—where I had a mini heart attack because the inner gates were 2.28m clearance and my rig sits around 2.3m. We made it through clean, but if you’re running a roof box or taller load, just use the outer gates. Once we rolled into Cristina’s Garden and Campsite, the real test started: wind. We fought strong gusts just to set up, but my awning and RTT survived the whole night with zero damage—as long as you tie it down properly and add extra ropes in the middle to stop the flapping and noise. I also shared a quick rig update (bed slide is a game-changer, and my Delta 2 was still at 66% without even touching the expansion battery). The campsite itself is semi-raw—cool weather, pine trees, but no electricity and no on-site CR, so you’ll cross the road to use the eatery. After that, we explored the “mighty gates of Malico,” caught a surprise sunset, checked out a preserved M4 Sherman tank at Militindan Historical Nature Park (4L for the steep descent), visited Cafe de Alma (Hobbit-house vibes), and ended with WWII artifacts, a hidden waterfall, and strawberry picking—honestly sweeter than what I usually get in Baguio or La Trinidad.
