In this video I’m testing out the Lewitt RAY, and first off—big shout out to Lewitt for even making it possible. They sent the mic over for review, but they’re not paying me and they have zero say in what I say here, so if it didn’t meet my standards I’d tell you. Right away, the packaging and presentation is top notch (Lewitt always does that), and the design is crazy clean on camera—especially that green capsule and the square-ish body. Once I got it powered up with phantom power, I noticed the little screen and blinking behavior, which immediately let me know this isn’t a “normal” condenser. Sound-wise, my first impression is it’s super detailed with a really nice high-end—clean, not harsh. I’ve been using an AT2020 lately and that mic can get sibilant and jarring up top, but the RAY keeps that clarity without feeling like it’s damaging your ears. Then we get into the features: there’s a built-in mute button (super convenient for streamers), and the Aura feature which acts like a noise gate inside the mic. The closer you are, the more it isolates your voice and helps reduce room echo/ambience. Overall, I approve—unique features, clean sound, and it looks amazing on camera.
