Hi my friend—today I’m finally starting on the basement, and yes… it’s overwhelming. Part of it is unfinished, part of it is my husband’s office, and honestly I’ve been avoiding coming down here because it’s just so much stuff. But I’m done letting it sit. I’m trying to be a good steward of what I prayed for, and for me that means I have to take care of what I already have—even if it’s not cute, not perfect, and my containers don’t all match. In this first video of my slow, realistic cleaning series, I set a 40-minute timer and only tackled one small corner. I listened to an audiobook, decluttered what I could, swept, and made a plan to come back the next day to work on the next sections. I also talked about faith, comparison, and how some gifts look like consistency and showing up to do the work no one sees—like motherhood and keeping a home. The big takeaway is simple: no pressure, no perfection, just progress. Little small portions add up to big things, and the basement will still be here tomorrow.
