In this video I’m breaking down the brand new Chord Progression Generator that’s showing up in the FL Studio 21.3 beta (and yeah… some people are calling it “AI,” but eh, I don’t know about all that). I show you exactly where to find it in the Piano Roll (right-click your instrument > Piano Roll > the little triangle > Tools > Generate chord progression, or just hit Alt+P). From there, I walk through the first thing you’ll want to do: set your scale, because the results make way more sense once you tell it what key you’re in. I also test how it sounds right away, and I keep it real—some generated progressions weren’t my taste, but with a couple clicks you can regenerate, change chord lengths, and reorganize the progression until it’s usable. The really cool part is the Analyze feature: if you already have a melody in the Piano Roll, you can generate chords that match it, and it actually came out solid on the first try. I wrap up by showing extra options like conventional vs adventurous, genre targeting (Pop, R&B, Jazz, House, Metal), rhythm variations, presets, and even typing in your own progression—basically a fast, native way to get started with chords without downloading third-party plugins.
